The fine print

Policies

Plain language, no theatrics. This covers how I work, what you own and how I look after your details.

Terms

These terms explain how I work with clients and what we both agree to when you commission artwork from me. By sending an inquiry, requesting a quote or making a payment, you accept the points below. I'm an independent graphic designer and illustrator working on my own, not a company or agency, so everything here is written in plain first-person language.

What I offer

I provide custom digital creative services, including logo design, illustration, character design, game sprites, digital artwork and general graphic design. Every piece is made to order based on your brief. I do not sell physical products. All deliverables are digital files supplied electronically, with nothing shipped or posted.

Inquiries and quotes

You can reach out through my contact form or by email with a description of what you need. The more detail you share about the style, size, purpose and any deadlines, the more accurate my reply will be. After we talk through the brief, I send a written quote covering the price, the number of revision rounds and a rough timeline. Quotes are valid for thirty days and the price stays fixed unless the scope changes.

Payments

I ask for a deposit before I begin, usually fifty percent of the agreed price, with the balance due before final files are released. Smaller jobs may be paid in full up front. Payment details and accepted methods are shown on the invoice. All prices are in the currency stated in your quote, and you are responsible for any fees charged by your own bank or payment provider.

Starting a project

A project begins once the deposit is paid and the brief is confirmed in writing, which can simply be an email or message where we both agree on what's being made. I take on a limited number of projects at a time, so your slot is booked in the order deposits are received.

Revisions

Each project includes a set number of revision rounds, noted in your quote, so we can refine the work until it fits the brief. Revisions cover adjustments within the agreed direction. New ideas, a change of concept or extra deliverables count as additional work and are quoted separately before I continue.

Your responsibilities

To keep things moving, I rely on you to provide clear instructions, any reference material and timely feedback at each stage. You confirm that anything you ask me to work from, such as a brand, character or reference, is yours to use or properly licensed. Delays in feedback or missing information can push back the timeline.

Communication

I work alone, so I handle every message myself. I usually reply within one to two business days. The clearer and more grouped your feedback is, the faster I can act on it. I keep our main communication in writing so we always have a shared record of what was agreed.

Delivery of files

Final files are delivered digitally, by email or a download link, once the final payment clears. You'll usually receive standard formats such as PNG with transparency, along with source or layered files where they make sense. If you need a specific format, size or export for your engine or store, let me know at the start and I'll include it.

Timelines

Every project has a timeline agreed up front. Most single pieces are ready within about a week, while larger packs and sets take longer. Timelines depend on how quickly feedback comes back and on my current workload, and I'll keep you posted if anything affects the schedule.

Intellectual property and usage rights

I keep ownership of the work until it is paid for in full. Once final payment clears, you own the rights to use the finished artwork for the purpose we agreed, including using it commercially and selling it on merchandise. The artwork I deliver is original and made by me; I don't trace, copy or use other people's work in your files. I keep the right to display the finished piece in my portfolio and promotional channels unless you ask me in writing not to.

Cancellation

You can cancel a project at any time by letting me know in writing. Because each piece is custom, the deposit covers the time already spent and isn't returned once work has started. If I haven't begun yet, the deposit is refunded in full. If I need to cancel for any reason on my side, I refund any payment for work not delivered.

Refunds

Refunds follow the same approach as cancellations and are covered in more detail in the Refunds section below. In short, custom work that has already started isn't refundable, but the revision rounds are there to make sure you're happy before final payment.

Limitation of liability

I take real care with every project, but I can't be held responsible for losses that come from how the artwork is used after delivery, such as printing choices, platform rules or business decisions made with it. My responsibility is limited to the amount you paid for the project in question. Nothing here removes any rights you have under the law that apply to you.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time as the way I work changes. The version in place when your project starts is the one that applies to it. The latest version is always shown on this page.

Contact

If anything here is unclear or you'd like to talk something through before we start, email me at suchy@inbox.eu and I'll be glad to help.

Privacy

This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it and how I look after it. I'm an independent graphic designer and illustrator working on my own, so I'm the only person who handles your details. I keep what I collect to the minimum needed to talk with you and complete your project.

Information I collect

I collect the details you choose to give me when you get in touch or hire me. This usually means your name, email address and anything you write in the contact form or in our messages, such as your brief, references and feedback. If you make a payment, the billing details needed for the invoice are handled through my payment provider; I see the basic record of the transaction but not your full card number.

Contact form data

When you send a message through the contact form, I receive the name, email and text you enter. I use this only to read your request and reply to you. I don't add you to any mailing list and I don't use the form to send marketing.

How I use your information

I use your details to answer your questions, prepare quotes, work on your project, send drafts, raise invoices and deliver the finished files. I may also use it to keep a record of what we agreed and to handle anything that comes up after the work is done, such as a follow-up request. I don't use your information for any purpose you wouldn't reasonably expect from hiring me.

How I share information

I don't sell your details and I don't share them with anyone for marketing. The only third parties involved are the everyday tools I rely on to run my work, such as my email provider and my payment processor, and they only receive what they need to do their part. I may share information if the law requires it, for example a valid legal request.

Data security

I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. I use reputable services for email and payments, protect my accounts with strong passwords and access controls, and limit stored files to what I actually need. No method of sending or storing data online is perfectly secure, but I treat your details with care and act quickly if I ever spot a problem.

Data retention

I keep project records and related messages for as long as I need them to support the work and to meet tax and accounting obligations, then I remove them. If you contact me without going ahead with a project, I delete that correspondence once it's clearly no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask me what information I hold about you, request a copy, ask me to correct anything that's wrong, or ask me to delete it where I'm not required to keep it. Just email me and I'll deal with your request promptly. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority if you feel I've handled your details poorly.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies, which are explained in the Cookies section below. You control what's allowed through the banner shown on your first visit.

If you have any questions about your privacy or want to make a request about your data, email me at suchy@inbox.eu.

Refunds

This policy explains when refunds are possible and how to request one. Everything I make is custom digital work created specifically for you, which affects how refunds work compared with off-the-shelf products. I want you to be happy with the result, so the process below is built around catching any issues before final payment.

Custom work policy

Every piece I deliver is made to order from your brief. Because the work is created just for you and can't be resold to anyone else, the time I spend on it is the main cost. This means refunds are handled differently from a stock product you can simply return.

Before work begins

If you pay a deposit and then decide not to go ahead before I've started any work, you get a full refund of that deposit. Nothing has been produced yet, so there's nothing to charge for.

Partial refunds

If a project is cancelled after I've already started, the deposit covers the time and work completed up to that point and isn't returned. If you've paid more than the work done so far reflects, I refund the difference for the part not yet delivered. If I'm the one who has to step away from a project, I refund any payment for work I haven't delivered.

When refunds aren't available

Once final files have been delivered and paid for, the work is considered complete and isn't refundable, since custom digital files can't be returned. A change of mind about the finished result after delivery, or wanting a different concept than the one we agreed, doesn't qualify for a refund. The revision rounds included in your quote are there to make sure the work fits the brief before that point.

How to request a refund

If you think a refund applies, email me at suchy@inbox.eu with your name and a short note about the project and what's wrong. I'll reply within a couple of business days, talk it through with you and, where a refund is due, process it back to your original payment method.

Cookies

This policy explains what cookies this site uses and how you can control them. Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to help it work properly and to understand how it's being used. I keep cookie use to a minimum and don't use them for advertising.

Types of cookies I use

I use two kinds of cookies on this site: essential cookies that keep it running, and a small amount of analytics cookies that help me understand which pages and pieces are viewed most. I don't use advertising or tracking cookies from ad networks.

Essential cookies

These cookies are needed for the site to work as expected. They do things like remember your cookie choices so the banner doesn't keep reappearing, and help the pages load and display correctly. The site can't function properly without them, so they don't require consent.

Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies help me see, in an anonymous and aggregated way, which pages and artwork get the most attention so I know what to show more of. They don't identify you personally and I don't use the information for anything beyond improving the site. These cookies are only set if you allow them.

Your consent

When you first visit, a banner lets you choose what to allow. Essential cookies are always on because the site needs them, while analytics cookies are only used if you agree. You're free to decline the optional cookies and still use the whole site.

Managing cookies

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which resets the banner so you can choose again. Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working as intended.

Delivery

This policy explains how I deliver finished work and what to expect along the way. I provide custom digital creative services only. There are no physical products and nothing is shipped or posted; everything is delivered to you electronically as digital files.

Digital delivery only

All deliverables are digital files. I don't sell or send any physical goods, so there are no postage costs, shipping times or couriers involved. Once a project is finished and paid for, you receive the files directly.

Delivery methods

Final files are sent by email attachment or through a secure download link, whichever suits the file sizes involved. You'll usually receive standard formats such as PNG with transparency, along with source or layered files where they make sense. If you need a particular format, size or export for your engine or store, let me know at the start and I'll include it.

Estimated timelines

Every project has a timeline agreed up front in your quote. As a rough guide, most single pieces are ready within about a week, while larger sets, packs and more complex work take longer. Timelines depend on how quickly feedback comes back and on my current workload, and I'll let you know early if anything affects the schedule.

Revision process

Each project includes a set number of revision rounds, noted in your quote, so we can refine the work until it fits the brief. Revisions cover adjustments within the agreed direction. Brand-new ideas, a change of concept or extra deliverables count as additional work and are quoted separately before I continue.

Client communication

I work alone and handle every message myself, usually replying within one to two business days. I keep our main communication in writing so we always have a shared record of what was agreed, and clear, grouped feedback helps me deliver faster.

Completion of projects

A project is complete once the final files have been delivered and the balance has been paid. At that point the agreed usage rights pass to you, as set out in the Terms. If you run into any trouble opening or using the files, get in touch and I'll help sort it out.

Acceptable Use

This policy sets out the kinds of requests I won't take on and the responsibilities you accept when commissioning work from me. It exists to keep the work I create lawful, original and fair to everyone involved. By hiring me, you agree to the points below.

Prohibited requests

I don't create hateful content, material that promotes harm or violence against a person or group, or any sexual content involving minors. I also won't produce work designed to mislead people, spread disinformation or otherwise cause harm. If a request falls into these areas, I'll decline it.

Illegal content

I won't create anything that breaks the law or is intended to be used for unlawful activity. This includes work that supports illegal schemes or that would put you, me or anyone else at legal risk.

Copyright infringement

The artwork I deliver is original and made by me; I don't trace, copy or pass off other people's work as part of your files. In return, you confirm that anything you ask me to base work on, such as a reference, character, logo or brand, is yours to use or properly licensed. I won't knowingly copy an existing design or recreate a protected logo or character without the right to do so.

Fraudulent use

You agree not to use my work to impersonate a real brand or person, to deceive customers, or as part of any fraudulent or deceptive scheme. Artwork I deliver must not be resold as stock, claimed as your own original drawing, or used in a way that breaks the rules of the platform or store you're selling on.

Abuse and harassment

I work alone and expect our communication to stay respectful. I won't continue with a project that involves abusive, threatening or harassing behaviour, and I reserve the right to end a project where that happens, settling any balance fairly for the work completed.

If these rules are broken

If I find that a request or finished piece is being used in a way that breaks this policy, I may decline or stop the work. Sticking to the points above keeps everything clear and means you're free to use my work on your products and storefronts. If you're unsure whether something is okay, email me at suchy@inbox.eu and I'll let you know.
