I am Tomas Suchy. I draw characters, marks and worlds for a living.

I work as an independent illustrator and graphic designer. I make custom illustration, logos, 2D characters and game sprites for independent developers, online stores and small teams who want art that actually fits what they are building.

How I got here, and how I work.

I picked up a stylus to draw the kind of art I wanted to see in games, and I never really put it down. After many commissions, I have a steady way of working that keeps projects calm and the results sharp.

It usually goes like this. You tell me what you need and roughly where it is going, whether that is a hero for a card game, a mascot for a shop or a clean wordmark for a brand. I send sketches, we pick a direction, and I take it to a finished piece with a set number of revision rounds so we both know where we stand. You get files that drop straight into your engine, your store page or your brand kit.

I lean on bold shapes, strong color and readable detail. I would rather a piece feel like one clear idea than a pile of clever effects. Everything I deliver is original work, made by me, and sent as digital files. There is nothing physical to ship.

What I hold to

Silhouette first

I start with shape. If a character reads as a black silhouette, it will read on a store page, a sprite sheet or a banner.

Built to scale

Every piece is drawn to hold up at 32 pixels and at full resolution. Game art and brand marks have to survive being shrunk.

One person, start to finish

You speak to the person drawing your work. No account managers, no handoffs, no guessing who did what.

Original, always

I draw everything by hand on the canvas. Nothing traced, nothing pulled from stock, nothing reused from another client.

You are free to use finished work on merchandise and storefronts once it is paid in full. I keep the right to show pieces in my portfolio unless you ask me not to.
